2540 S. Espina Street, Las Cruces, N.M.

The 2540 South Espina building was originally a house back in 1870. The walls are 24" thick adobe and the tall, pitched roof was added in 1929 (since the original construction had a slightly sloped, mud roof). These apartments (ideally suited for single occupancy) have mostly tiled floors (as are the unique bathrooms and kitchens) and the ceilings are 10' high, so there are small lofts in most of these apartments.
